The Division of Student Success provides campus-wide coordination and leadership for student—including graduate student—success programs and activities across departments, divisions, colleges, and administrative units, including the Division of Graduate Studies and the Center for Innovations in Teaching and Learning (CITL).

Preparing for the Academic Job Search

This workshop will provide an overview of the academic job search process, what is expected, and what to prepare. We will review what goes into the curriculum vitae (CV) and cover letter, how to prepare for the interview and campus visit.

Gwynn Benner has worked for over ten years within the University of California. She currently serves as assistant vice provost for the Division of Student Success at UC Santa Cruz, where she oversees administration of annual funds for student success initiatives and is co-lead for the First Generation Initiative. While at UC Davis, she oversaw career services for master’s, Ph.D., and postdoctoral scholars, working across disciplines, organizing and leading workshops, convening employer networking and recruiting events, and providing one-to-one career advising for hundreds of scholars annually.
