Public Transport to and on Campus

The campus Loop shuttles start their fall quarter schedule on Monday, September 24. Campus shuttles are free to all - no ID card needed. 

The Santa Cruz Metro - local routes are free with an active student ID card - has schedules and maps available online. Try starting with the SC Metro schedules information.

And you may also find the campus shuttle app SlugRoute helpful when you’re on campus; it lets you know where the shuttles are via GPS.

Campus WiFi

At UCSC, eduroam is the free encrypted wireless service that allows students, faculty, staff, and visitors from other participating institutions, to connect securely to the Internet.

  • 8:30am - 9am: TA Orientation Check-In & Coffee (All grads checking in for the TA Orientation must have their Student ID cards) - outside of the Main Stage
  • 9am - 12pm: TA Orientation (+union rep time) - Theater Arts Main Stage
  • 12pm - 1pm: Lunch for TA Orientation, Int'l Orientation - Media Theater
  • 1pm - 2pm: Title IX Training domestic students only - Earth & Marine Sciences B206
  • 1pm - 3pm: International Grad Student Orientation - Media Theater
  • 3pm - 4pm: Title IX Training international students only - Media Theater

  • 8:30am - 9am: Check-In Title XI Training/Coffee - Humanities Court Yard
  • 9am - 10am: Make-up Title IX Training for new grads who did not attend the day before - Humanities Lecture Hall 206
  • 10am - 11am: Welcome Brunch - Graduate Student Commons, Quarry Plaza
  • 11am - 1:30pm: Graduate Student Orientation - Humanities Lecture Hall 206
  • 1:30pm - 4:30pm: Grad Orientation BBQ Social & Resource Fair -Upper Quarry Amphitheater
