Canvas Online Course TA Ethics

The UCSC Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) partnered with Online Education to create an online Canvas course, Teaching as an Ethical Practice: A Guide for Teaching Assistants (“TA Ethics”), available to all TAs as a resource. If you are a new TA, you are required to take this course the first quarter of your teaching assistantship. The course takes approximately eight hours to complete. Your graduate student adviser will notify the Graduate Division prior to your first quarter of teaching that you are a first-time TA, and the Graduate Division will invite you to enroll in the course to take during that first quarter. If you do not receive an invitation from Canvas to accept enrollment in the course at the start of your first quarter of teaching, notify both your graduate student adviser and the Graduate Division Current Student Services team at gss-group@ucsc.edu. 

As a graduate student, you may access the course prior to receiving a teaching assistantship as a resource by enrolling in an unofficial version of it via your Canvas account.
