Special Events

The Graduate Division hosts three major special events, two of which—Grad Slam and the Graduate Symposium—are free and open to the public.

Grad Slam takes place near the end of winter quarter at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center in downtown Santa Cruz. The Graduate Symposium takes place near the end of spring quarter in McHenry Library. The Distinguished Graduate Student Alumni Award Ceremony occurs the same week as the symposium as part of pre-commencement hooding ceremonies hosted by some academic divisions. [Plans are all being made by University Relations with the academic divisions and the Graduate Division right now, and dates have not yet been set.]
