Postdoc Employment Opportunities

The Postdoctoral Scholars Association (PSA) is a fledgling organization that was recognized by the Graduate Council in 2002.

The objectives of the association are to:

1.)    Develop a self-sustaining organization that provides a voice for postdoctoral scholars at UC Santa Cruz.

2.)    Provide resources and information for postdoctoral scholars

3.)    Create a stronger sense of community amongst our fellow scholars.

The bylaws for the PSA can be found here.

If you have suggestions, comments or you would like to participate with the PSA, please go to the contacts page and e-mail one of the current officers.  Also contact the PSA if you would like to join our listserv.

Current PSA Projects

The PSA is currently working on the following:

1.)    Continuing development of this website for postdoctoral scholars, which will help the organization to achieve all of its current objectives.

2.)    Development of a PSA brochure to promote the organization around campus.

3.)    Organize meetings and social events to create a sense of community among postdoctoral scholars on campus.

4.)    Working with administration to implement the academic personnel manual for postdoctoral scholars on campus. APM-390 is a UC systemwide policy to address the inequities associated with being a postdoctoral scholar.  Information about the manual as well as the document itself can be found here.

Also, the PSA participates in the following organizations:

1.)    Member of the University of California Council of Postdoctoral Scholars.

2.)    Non-voting Member of the Graduate Council. The Graduate Council is a standing committee for the UCSC Academic Senate.
