Social Documentation graduate student Evan Apodaca's short documentary, Que Lejos Estoy (How Far I Am) is featured in PBS' 2016 Online Film Festival.
How do different generations of the same Mexican American family deal with cultural assimilation? How do expectations about appropriate behavior in American culture affect their own personal choices, and their interactions with one another?
Apodaca explores his family's history with his grandmother, while narrating the story with his own reflections and analysis about his experiences within the two cultures.
